A2B Plastics is a leading UK plastic injection moulding company that was founded in 1958. Originally a small unit of 10,000 sq. ft., it has since expanded to 40,000 sq. ft. The site and building have recently undergone major refurbishment.

There has been a plastic injection moulding company at this site in Colwyn Bay since John Prior Plastics was formed back in 1958. Over the years ownership of the company has changed hands twice, and finally Andrew Brooksbank bought the site from CPL Plastics in July 2002.

Andrew Brooksbank and Alun Burt have both worked within the plastics industry for over 25 years at various management levels, and both have extensive knowledge of the plastic injection moulding trade.

The company was part of a small group of two plastic injection moulding companies. Andrew and Alun recognised the greater business potential of the site at Colwyn Bay. They approached each other with a view to a joint venture with Andrew as Chief Executive and Alun as Managing Director.

In December 2008 A2B Plastics expanded its operations by taking over a Toolmaking firm and moving it into the premises in Colwyn Bay. By securing the services of an experienced Toolmaker to support the plastic injection moulding process, A2B Plastics enabled customers to have the option of having all their tooling requirements done in house.

In addition to acquiring the Toolroom facility, in January 2009 when Marlin Products went into receivership, A2B Plastics stepped in. This ensured that both Marlin's existing customers and also new customers continued to have the opportunity to purchase the wide selection of high quality plastic boxes and plastic carrying cases which had previously been available to them.
